Gertrude “Gertie” Elizabeth Kratzke-Day, our beloved cat of 13 years, passed away while surrounded by family. She was affectional known as G-cat, G-money or Gert-Gert.
Gertie was a mainstay of the home, and the queen of the kitchen. No chicken was safe around her. She accompanied her mom and dad through two moves, birth of three human siblings, and welcomed three cats and a dog into her home. Gertie loved living life. She enjoyed sunbeams, stealing drinks of milk from cereal bowls, and making sure you knew she was present. Gertie was also a great caretaker. She always knew when you were sick and would comfort you by working her magic through “kitten healing powers.” She loved snuggling in bed and on the couch. She never missed a meal of can cat food and love her kitten treats.
Gertie was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Her purrs and meows are forever etched in our hearts.
