In Loving Memory of Our Sweet Boy, Jaxson Dhein
May 7, 2018 – September 28, 2026

In loving memory of our sweet boy Jaxson, who passed away on September 28, 2026.

Jaxson was born on May 7, 2018. From the moment he was born, he had our hearts. From then on, Jaxson wasn’t just our dog — he was our baby, our companion, our constant, and such a huge part of our family.

Jaxson also leaves behind Harley, our other Yorkie and his Dad. Being father and son certainly didn’t mean they always saw eye to eye, but they had their own unique relationship. They had their moments, and they had their disagreements, but they were family.

Anyone who knew Jaxson knew how much he loved to play catch. It didn’t matter what time it was, where we were, or what we were doing. The second we woke up, there he was with a squeaky ball in his mouth, ready to play. If Jaxson had that ball, you were going to throw it — over and over and over again.

Whether it was from the coffee table in the living room, from the bed in the bedroom, or off the deck in the backyard, Jaxson was always ready for one more throw. His squeaky balls were everywhere. Waking up in the middle of the night and stepping on one could nearly give you a heart attack. But that was life with Jaxson, and those are the little things we would give anything to have back.

Six months ago, Jaxson was diagnosed with T-cell lymphoma. He fought so incredibly hard. Through the treatments, the difficult days, and everything that came with his illness, he was still our Jaxson. We tried to give him every good day we possibly could, and we would have given anything for more time with him.

Eight years will never feel like enough.

We miss his little face. We miss his personality, his routines, having him beside us, and hearing that squeaky ball. We miss waking up and knowing he was there. The house seems so empty and quiet without him.

When the time came to say goodbye, we held Jaxson in our arms and stayed with him until the very end. Jaxson leaves behind his Mom, Kris Dhein, his Dad, Steve Staats and his Dog Dad, Harley.

We’re not sure how to get over losing him. Saying goodbye still doesn’t seem real.

Jaxson, we hope you found Bear in the afterlife and that the two of you are together. We hope you’ll both be waiting for us until the day we can all be together again.

Thank you, Jaxson, for letting us be your Mom and Dad. Thank you for every cuddle, every little look, every game of catch, every squeak of that ball, and every ordinary day that became something special simply because you were there.

You were our baby.
You were our family.
And you always will be.

We miss you more than words could ever say.

Forever loved, forever missed, and forever our sweet boy.

Love, Mom, Dad & Harley
